Ashtons Charitable Trust donates £16,500 to 10 charities
Ashtons Charitable Trust is delighted to have donated over £16,500 across 10 charities.
Receiving £3,339.94 each were the firm’s four chosen Charities of the Year – Blue Smile, Getaway Girls, Lighthouse Women’s Aid and PACT Animal Sanctuary. Sharing the same amount again were a number of smaller causes who made direct applications for funds. These were Big C, Bumblebee Children’s Charity, James Paget University Hospital Charity, SPILL Festival, Young Lives vs Cancer and A Voice for Max.
Funds for Ashtons Charitable Trust are raised in the main through Ashtons Legal’s corporate and charity fundraising events such as the Court of Protection Conference and the Cambridge and Ipswich Treasure Hunts. Monies are also raised through staff supporting internal events and through Ashtons’ Wills Campaign where the firm gives a donation from every new Will created, invoiced and paid in the year.
Chair of Ashtons’ CSR Committee, Natalie Westgate says: “It is always a pleasure to support such worthwhile causes in our local communities and I thank all our staff for their support and fundraising efforts.”
“Looking ahead, we really want to form meaningful and lasting relationships with our Charities of the Year, so we have decided to increase the term we support them to two years. I am therefore delighted to announce that in 2024 and 2025 we will be working with Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, FoodCycle Cambridge, St Elizabeth Hospice, Young Lives vs Cancer and YMCA Norfolk.”
