Ashtons appoints home grown solicitor
Ashtons is delighted to announce that Sophie Newman has qualified as a solicitor with the firm following completion of her training contract.
Sophie undertook a two-year training contract which saw her move around Ashtons’ offices and working in a number of disciplines. She then went on to accept a role internally in her chosen field, Lifetime Planning, upon qualification.
Sophie works in Ashtons’ Cambridge office on Newmarket Road and deals with a wide range of private client work, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, probate (both taxable and non-taxable) and Court of Protection matters. She is a Dementia Friend, so has learned about what it’s like to live with dementia and can turn that understanding into action when dealing with her clients. Sophie is the third person to qualify into the Lifetime Planning team in Cambridge in the last three years.
Lynn Wicks (pictured with Sophie) who is Head of Lifetime Planning at Ashtons says: “It has been an honour helping Sophie to learn and grow professionally, and I am really pleased she chose to remain at our firm. I am especially pleased she has qualified into my team in Cambridge and I wish her all the very best in her future career at Ashtons.”
