Ashtons Brain Injury Case Management Conference 2025
February 6, 2025 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Welcome
I am delighted to announce the date for our 2025 Annual Brain Injury Case Management Conference. We shall be returning to the Hilton in Coventry on Thursday 6th February.
Programme
This year’s focus will be on expectations v reality.
When anyone goes into a litigation claim it will be with some preconceived ideas either based on previous experience or other information that they have seen or heard. In the case of clients and their families, they are unlikely to have had any personal experience and so have probably spoken to other people all read information online. In the case of professionals, it will be based on their experience from other cases.
The reality is that every case is very different, and the circumstances are different and therefore it it’s often the case that the expectations that clients and their families have are probably quite different to what can be achieved in reality in that particular case. Client expectations can be affected by what they hear from the professionals working with them who may be commenting on what they have seen on other clients.
Emotionally it can be very difficult for clients and their families to be told that something they thought was available or achievable may not be. Additionally, disappointments can put pressure on all of the professional relationships. It is incumbent on all the professionals involved to be clear on what is achievable and what may not be, for different reasons, and to be united in the communication with clients and their families.
We will be hearing from a family member who will talk about what their family were expecting and what actually happened in reality and how this affected them. We will also be hearing from professionals about the issues that may have an impact on a particular case both from the litigation and the case management perspectives.
Who should attend?
Once again, our day is aimed at Brain Injury Case Managers and other practitioners in the field, inclusive of therapists, support workers, social workers and those with an interest in the Court of Protection. Our aim is to come together and provide an informative and interactive day with the purpose of sharing useful practical points you can take away and apply in your everyday work in this specialist field.
The conference will again be supported by a host of relevant exhibitors who look forward to meeting you and the day continues to be an excellent networking opportunity with colleagues, referrers and suppliers alike.
Charity donation
This will be the 9th running of the event and we are thrilled that our previous conferences have now raised over £19,000 for the Ashtons Charitable Trust, supporting a wide range of charities, events and good causes as nominated by Ashtons Staff. We will again be making a donation to the Charitable Trust from the day’s proceeds.
