Ashtons Legal is deeply committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We strive to ensure that our staff reflect the diverse nature of the communities we serve. This approach enhances the quality and relevance of the legal services we provide to our clients.
We uphold the principles of non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all employees, enabling them to reach their full potential. These principles also extend to the treatment of clients, contacts and suppliers by our staff.
To support these objectives, our Diversity and Inclusivity Committee was established in July 2019. The committee is composed of colleagues from across the firm, representing a broad spectrum of backgrounds. It organises events throughout the year, focusing on key topics such as Women in Law, Disability Awareness and Pride Month. An example of the committee’s impact is the introduction of gender pronouns in our firm wide policies.
Ashtons’ is a Disability Confident Committed employer. The Disability Confident scheme, a government initiative, is designed to promote inclusive workplaces and change attitudes towards disability. By participating, Disability Confident organisations play a leading role in improving behaviour and culture within their businesses, networks and communities, while benefiting from inclusive recruitment practices.
